It’s a campaign with a story: Matthew arrives on set to discover he is contractually obliged to wear a Pink shirt… at all times.
The renowned star of Downton Abbey and A Single Man, Matthew brought a very British sense of humour to set, the total embodiment of the wit at the heart of Pink. Shot on location at a previous US Ambassador’s country estate, Cherry Hill, made for our perfect location. This architecturally significant home is most famously known for being a go-to retreat for Princess Margaret, who married Matthew Goode’s character Lord Snowdon in The Crown.
He dove straight into the day, the perfect gentleman ad-libbing through his scenes, drinking many, many cups of tea in bed, practicing serves on the tennis court and keeping spirits up even when the crew asked for just one more shot in the full bath.
For our new campaign, we wanted someone who embodies not just the Englishness of Pink and the sharpness of our cut, but also the sense of humour that’s deep in our veins. On set Matthew proved that he is the perfect Pink gentleman.
