Matthew Goode to appear at ‘Bloody Scotland’ event – 20th Sept 2026

Matthew is due to appear with Scott Frank, Kate Dickie, Alexej Manvelov and Leah Byrne at Scotland’s International Crime Writing Festival (18th -20th September 2026 in Stirling) to talk about Dept. Q

Quirky, quick-witted and quantifiably quality, Dept. Q is quite possibly the hottest crime series on television. The Edinburgh-set show has been a huge worldwide hit on Netflix, and we’re delighted to welcome its creator and stars to Bloody Scotland.

Joining us will be showrunner Scott Frank and stars Matthew Goode (DCI Carl Morck), Kate Dickie (Chief Superintendent Moira Jacobson), Alexej Manvelov (Akram Salim) and Leah Byrne (DC Rose Dickson) . Together, they will discuss how the show has achieved such cult status amongst fans and reveal behind-the-scenes secrets as they take a break from filming Series 2. This is definitely not to be missed!

The session will be chaired by the executive producer of the show, Rob Bullock.

Go behind the scenes of Netflix’s newest literary adaptation as actors Matthew Goode and Chloe Pirrie join writer and director Scott Frank to launch Dept. Q.

Based on the internationally bestselling series by Denmark’s #1 crime writer Jussi Adler-Olsen, the show revolves around Carl Morck (Matthew Goode), a former top-rated detective in Edinburgh assigned to a new cold case whilst wracked with guilt following an attack that left his partner paralyzed and another police officer dead.

Matthew Goode to play at Dunhill Links – 5th to 8th October

Matthew will be playing in the Dunhill Links golf tournament at St Andrews next week!

MATTHEW GOODE

Admired British actor, he has a long list of successful films in which he has appeared including Match Point, Imagine Me & You, My Family and Other Animals, Copying Beethoven, The Lookout, Brideshead Revisited, Watchmen, A Single Man, Leap Year, Stoker and The Imitation Game.

Was a member of the cast of the popular Downton Abbey series and played Anthony Armstrong-Jones, Princess Margaret’s husband, in The Crown.

Says his best golfing moment was partnering Danny Willett in the 2010 Championship and playing with Martin Kaymer, the eventual winner, in the final group.

This is the eighth time he has played. Says he once hit the ball straight right at the 18th and it bounced on the road and onto a building before ricocheting on to the green.
